We are pleased to share with you that the PA Historical and Museum Commission has made a $74,000 grant from the Keystone Preservation Program to the Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation.
The funds will be used to restore the zinc came transoms, and the doors leading into the theater and retail stores. The green paint will be removed from the tiles and cast concrete and damaged and missing tiles reproduced. We are deeply grateful to the commission and its staff for this award.
This grant comes on the heels of a grant from Delaware County Council that will enable the front roof to reclad in terra cotta tiles-- as it was in 1927. We greatly appreciate the support of State Senator Anthony Williams and State Representative Margo Davidson with securing this grant.
Look for these projects to get underway in the Spring of 2021. When these projects are completed we will have restored the entire main facade of the building!
