Since the theater closed in 1987, residents of eastern Delaware County have hoped that this local landmark would reopen as a public entertainment venue. The theater is poised for a rebirth, but we need everyone’s support to make it a reality. Whether you have ties to eastern Delaware County or are interested in historic theaters, listed below are ideas as to how you can help make the restoration of the theater a reality.
Let your elected officials know that you want them to support the campaign with public funding. Download the Lansdowne Theater Advocacy Guide and use it as guide to let federal, state and county officials know that this project is important to you and our community.
Join our mailing list to receive updates on the project progress and special events. Sign up to volunteer.
Word of mouth is very important in building support for the project. Share the excitement of the project with your families, reunions of your classes from Lansdowne, Lansdowne-Aldan, Penn Wood, Bonner or Prendergast high schools and urge them to join our mailing list. Even better, ask them to make a donation in support of the project.
We’re always looking for great ideas to accomplish the goal of restoring the theater. Email your great ideas to us at info@LansdowneTheater.org.
And of course, no matter how much you can afford, your contribution is needed and very much appreciated.
